Colored glass and smiles

I know is late for resolutions, mine would be to have no expectations and try to keep my optimism, but I take this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic year with at least one smile per day. I wish you more, but you get the idea. If you don’t find a reason to smile, just look around you, open your eyes and you’ll find it.

My favorite view, sunshine through colored glass.

And remember, you can smell roses even when running.

Christmas Choral Concert

20161207_003

We’ve had such a lovely evening at St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street Dublin, where D.I.T Conservatory of Music and Drama presented A Christmas Choral Concert featuring DIT Choral Society and DIT Chamber Choir. We were even invited for a sing-a-long of Joy to the world, which we did.

Dulce patrie

Green monster

We’ve had our last monster of the year (over 12 kg), for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Diet cheating.

Parfum de jour

Celebrating le quatorze juillet 2016 with a visit at Sheridans Cheesemongers on South Anne Street in Dublin 2, Ireland, wearing a drop or two (or three …) of mon numéro cinq.

If you visit Dublin, you must visit this gorgeous little store. In my visit today, I coudn’t leave without a piece of Knockanore smoked cheese. Is a hard cheese, and it reminded me of the smoked cheeses made in Bran, co. Brasov, Romania. This little piece of gold was made in Cnoc an Oir, the hill of gold, in Waterford, more details can be found here.

The great journey

Few days ago I’ve received a wonderful children’s book, after participating in a giveaway on goodreads. The book is “The great journey” by Maria Tzoutzopoulou with Julia Oliver’s illustrations.

The book is a lovely and heart-warming story about international transport of merchandise, toys and manufacture. One can find in this lovely story nuances about perfections and imperfections, beauty and friendship, and openess towards the others. As well as a story about travel and adventure and sharing.

This story would make a lovely, well written, night read for children, and the illustrations help to underline the beauty of it.

PS Non-related with this book review, Maria’s name sent me straight away in a long dream about sunny vacations and Greek islands, for the moment I’ll just give a hug to my Irish teddy bear, Erin 🙂
